The Augusta Downtown Alliance (ADA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Isabelle Oechslie as the organization’s new Executive Director.

Oechslie brings extensive experience in planning, economic development, and historic preservation, having worked with municipalities including Saco, South Portland, and Damariscotta, as well as through her own consulting business. With a career centered on community engagement and relationship building, she is well positioned to lead ADA in strengthening partnerships, supporting local businesses, and advancing downtown Augusta’s economic vitality.

“We are thrilled to welcome Isabelle as our new Executive Director,” said Victoria Abbott, President of the Augusta Downtown Alliance Board of Directors. “Her energy, creativity, and proven experience in working with downtowns across Maine will be a tremendous asset to Augusta. We are excited to see her vision come to life as we continue to grow and strengthen our downtown.”

During the hiring process, the committee was especially impressed with Oechslie’s vision for ADA’s future, her commitment to relationship-driven leadership, and her proactive approach to fundraising.

“Isabelle stood out to us because she combines technical expertise with an enthusiastic, community-focused approach,” said Heather Pouliot, ADA Board Member and Chair of the Hiring Committee. “She is ready to be the face of our downtown, and we believe she will bring fresh energy and strong leadership to the organization.”

Oechslie, who recently purchased her home in the Kennebec Valley, expressed her enthusiasm about the role and her commitment to the greater Augusta community. She will begin full time with the ADA in late October.

The Augusta Downtown Alliance is part of the national Main Street America program, working to promote economic development, historic preservation, and community vibrancy in Augusta’s downtown district.
