Our Vision

Augusta Downtown Alliance is an exciting and unique downtown that celebrates a thriving authentic community. It is a focal point for life and entertainment in central Maine.

Who We Are

Welcome to Downtown Augusta—the beating heart of Maine's capital city! This is an exciting time in the history of our neighborhood and we can't wait for you to get in on the ground floor of all the changes happening.

Located in one of the Top 50 Small Towns in America, according to Livabaility.com, Downtown Augusta proudly joins the ranks of two other prominent Maine communities, Brunswick and Bar Harbor as one of only three cities in the state to be listed.

Situated in a sloping valley along the Kennebec River, Downtown Augusta offers an eclectic mix of old and new, perfect for either a family outing or a night out on the town.

As a largely volunteer organization composed of merchants, developers, and stakeholders, the Augusta Downtown Alliance (ADA) is thrilled to represent this diverse community, and remains committed to further developing it by fostering business growth, improving the region's quality of life, and promoting beautification.

Proudly partnered with Main Street America, ADA is pleased to follow the tried and tested Four Point Approach of Organization, Promotion, Economic Restructuring and Design that has worked so well in other Main Street communities throughout America.

So come and join ADA so you can see for yourself just what makes Downtown Augusta so uniquely special.

Meet Our Exeutive Director

Jeremy Ashlock brings a dynamic background of organizational management and innovative economic development expertise to the role of Executive Director of the Augusta Downtown Alliance. Known for his strength in identifying and fostering strategic partnerships and cultivating a collaborative ecosystem, Jeremy most recently made significant contributions to the Maine Space Complex Initiative, notably co-authoring its strategic plan. His professional journey, enriched by influential interactions within Maine's start-up community, began during his time at Sawyer Island Consulting, exposing him to multiple industries and verticals. Complementing this experience is his firsthand knowledge of the issues facing Augusta's downtown business community, gained through owning a downtown business in a nearby community since 2014. A resident of Augusta, Jeremy grew up in nearby Monmouth, and holds a bachelor's degree in Financial Economics and an MBA from the University of Maine. Energized and enthusiastic, Jeremy is committed to building on existing foundations to propel Downtown Augusta toward a vibrant and prosperous future, and is excited to begin this transformative work.
